Special 18 Days – Big Five & Beach holiday

Day 1. Tsavo East National Park.

Depart Mombasa after breakfast and cross over to Tsavo East which is also well known for massive herds of elephants which are usually covered in red dust, the man -eaters of Tsavo-lions are seen and plenty of wild game. Meals and overnight at Zomeni Lion Hill Camp.

Day 2. Tsavo West National Park.

After breakfast depart for Tsavo East through Tsavo River Gate. Tsavo hosts the “Big Five” and plenty of other wild game.Kyulu hills and shetani lava flows and Mzima springs where from an underwater observation tank you can see submerged Hippo walking the floor of the springs. Dinner and overnight at Ngulia safari Lodge.

Day 3. Amboseli National Park.

Depart Tsavo West after breakfast and drive via Chulu Gate,Masai Land for lunch in Amboseli at the foot of the impressive snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. arrive early evening, with game viewing in a pop-up roofed micro-bus enroute to the Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sentrim Camp or Similar .

Day 4. Treetops/The Ark

Early morning game viewing in Amboseli, Breakfast and depart for Treetops/The Ark Lodge in the Aberdares National Park arriving in time for lunch at the Outspan Country Club. Afternoon transfer to Treetops Lodge for floodlit game viewing. Contains a variety of wild game among them Elephants, Rhino, Leopard, Bushbuck, Elusive Bongo , Giant Forest Hog etc. Dinner and overnight at The Ark Lodge.

Day 5. Lake Nakuru National Park.

Pre-breakfast game viewing, Breakfast and proceed to Lake Nakuru still exploring the dramatic Great Rift valley. Arrive in time for lunch and afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is one of the gem in the necklace of the Rift Valley Lakes often referred as the Pink Lake for it’s great masses of pink flamingos. Opportunity to see millions of flamingos besides thousands of other birds. Lake Nakuru is a Rhino Sanctuary and harbors other wild-game like the Lion, Waterbucks, Buffalo, Warthog, Hippo etc. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge/Flamingo Hill Camp.

Day 6. Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Morning game viewing in Lake Nakuru ,Breakfast and depart crossing the Loita Plains and viewing sceneries enroute, See red clad spear wielding Masai warriors tending their multi-colored herds among the presence of wild game giving a blind eye to the presence of big predators, A single Moran can cross the Mara Game Reserve only holding a spear and a stick on the other hand! arrive Mara for Lunch. Afternoon game drive inside the Park which is the Kenya’s best and most scenic. Dinner and overnight at Olshaiki Camp or Mara Leisure Camp.

Day 7. Masai Mara.

Full day to savor the beauty of the Park which has a permanent supply of water thus harbor a thriving population of wild game. All the “Big Five” and lots of gazelles, Topi, warthogs, Cheetah, Hyenas and even the rare Rhino might come out of the thicket for you. Extend your drive to the Hippo pool where they submerge at the approach of a vehicle only to surface seconds later to short and gamble their displeasure, Crocodiles sunbathe on the River banks mouths agape. Optional visit to the Masai villages for an insight to their culture. All meals and overnight at Olshaiki Camp or Mara Leisure Camp.

Day 8. Masai Mara to Serengeti.

After breakfast depart for Serengeti passing through Isebania Border to Serengeti . The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest on earth. The essential features of climate, vegetation and fauna have barely changed in the past million years. Early man himself made an appearance in Olduvai Gorge about two million years ago. Some patterns of life, death, adaptation and migration are as old as the hills themselves.Olduvai Gorge the site of Leakey’s family discovery of fossils of human and animal ancestors dating back to almost two million years. Meals and overnight at Katikati Tented Camp or Simlar.

Day 9. Full day Serengeti.

Full day in Serengeti plains, Search for wild game you might have missed the previous game drive. Morning and after noon game drives. It is the migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back. Meals and overnight at Katikati Tented Camp or Similar ..

Day 10. Serengeti to Ngorongoro.

After breakfast proceed on to Ngorongoro crater to arrive in time for lunch. After the lunch descend to the floor of the crater by use of 4wheel drive vehicle that will take you 2000ft down to the crater. The Crater is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles; its magical setting and abundant wildlife never fail to enthralls visitors. It borders the Serengeti National Park to the north and west. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa lodge/Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge.

Day 11. Ngorongoro crater.

After breakfast you will be taken 2000ft down the crater by a 4wheel drive vehicle for a full day crater tour, picnic lunch at crater. The Crater is also referred to as “the eighth wonder of the world” and stretching across some 8,300 sq km, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in northern Tanzania boasts a blend of landscapes, wildlife, people and archaeology that is unsurpassed in Africa. The volcanoes, grasslands, waterfalls and mountain forests are home to an abundance of animals and to the Masai people. In the evening ascend to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12. Lake Manyara.

Depart Ngorongoro in the morning for Lake Manyara, arriving in time for lunch. Stretching for 50km along the base of the rusty gold 600-metre high Rift valley escarpments, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, with a setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. The compact game viewing circuit through Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience. Afternoon game drive to explore the park. Dinner and overnight at lodge.

Day 13. Lake Manyara to Arusha.

After breakfast go for a morning game viewing drive in Lake Manyara depart for Arusha.Dinner and overnight at Kibo Palace Hotel or Ambureni House

Day 14; Arusha to Zanzibar

After breakfast, depart to Arusha town – transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for flight to Zanzibar , met at the airport and transfer to Uroa beach resort/Sandies Mapenzi Beach Resort or cheap and good beach cottage.

Day 15,16. & 17 Zanzibar full days.

Full days in Zanzibar enjoying optional beach activities, dinner and overnight at the Uroa beach resort/Sandies Mapenzi Beach Resort or cheap and best beach cottage.

Day 18.Zanzibar to Nairobi or next destination

Morning at leisure, afternoon transfer to the airport for flight to Nairobi, arriving Jomo Kenyatta international airport in good time for your connecting flight home.
